We are so lucky here at Hay Common to be located in Launceston. Right on the border between Devon and Cornwall, we get the best of both counties!

Beaches
Of course, Cornwall is renowned for its scenic beaches. Launceston is pretty much within a half an hour drive of some great spots in north Cornwall. Widemouth Bay, just outside of Bude- is a picturesque patch of coastline with coves ready to be explored!
If you’re willing to drive a little further south, you’ll find quaint little towns such as Padstow– where fish and chips followed by an ice cream just has to be done! Harlyn and Constantine are magnificent beaches where you can easily spend the entire day in the sun, relaxing and splashing in the waves.
Landmarks
Tingagel is one of the most spectacular historic sites in Britain- and it’s within just a 30 minute drive of Launceston. Experience the history of the castle, walk along the beaches and treat yourself to a proper cornish cream tea… bliss.
Launceston Castle was built as far back as 1068- and if you visit you can view an exhibition tracing over 1000 years of history. Why not pack a picnic and set it up on the grounds?
Attractions
Trethorne leisure park is a great family day out, whatever the weather! Jam packed full of things to do including bowling, dodgems, arcade games and indoor play areas- it’s the go to place for family fun in the town.
If a spot of golf is more your thing, then you can always head over to Trethorne Hotel and Golf club, where their award winning course presents a challenging and scenic Par 71 parkland layout, with numerous water hazards and tree-lined fairways. The restaurant at Trethorne offers sunday carvery- and is a great spot for special events!
